A sensuous and ethereal story of two young women falling in love for the first time. Young, beautiful Àsia lies in a coma, her mother and boyfriend keeping constant vigil by her side. In flashback we see what led up to her accident, her life studying architecture at university, the somewhat overbearing relationship she has with her mother and her passionless relationship with Nathaniel.

1963. The young nurse Anna begins working in the juvenile ward of a mental hospital. There she meets Lucia, a fifteen-year-old schizophrenic. Against the backdrop of a struggle between Dr. Marie and the rigid Dr. Oreste to reform patient treatment, a relationship between Anna and Lucia develops, forcing them to make decisive choices for their respective lives.

Nathalie and Louise are friends from childhood. While studying drama at University Louise becomes hopelessly obsessed with her friend. Jealous of the male friends she has she breaks up the friendship, followed by a suicide attempt. Later, Louise marries, but finds time to see the, by now quite accomplished actress, Nathalie. They fight through the years, La Repetition following them as their friendship comes together and breaks up frequently, while never actually reaching anything that can be called a climax.

When putting on a play on a lesbian’s suicide attempt, Yun-jeong, an open lesbian in school who plays a leading role in the theater production accuses Ji-won of writing the play without having a better understanding of homosexuality. As such accusation hurts her feelings, Ji-won intentionally approaches Yun-jeong’s ex-girlfriend, Min-a and revises her play script that gradually begins to resemble the story of a real-life ex-lesbian couple, Yun-jeong and Min-a. At the same time, Ji-won gets carried away by her growing feelings for Min-a.
