During a summer vacation, Ok-ju and Dong-ju move into their grandpa's house. While Dong-ju adapts to his new home, Ok-ju feels awkward about this new environment. Once their soon-to-be-divorced aunt also moves in, and as Ok-ju spends time with her family, the house and her grandpa start to grow on her.

As Constance (Natasha Richardson) and Nina (Toni Collette) gather at the deathbed of their mother, Ann (Vanessa Redgrave), they learn for the first time that their mother lived an entire other lifetime during one evening 50 years ago. In vivid flashbacks, the young Ann (Claire Daines) spends one night with a man named Harris (Patrick Wilson), who was the love of her life.

The first chapter of the Refrain Blue series, tells about the recollection of Yoshihiro's past about various events of summer school, of the fate where encounter and separation are interwoven with each other, as Yoshiro and Matsunaga will pass the Toyo Gakuen and will arrive at summer school at seashore. A mysterious girl smiles as she watches Yoshiro who stands still at the seashore dusk.

Santi, a 17-year-old boy, plays football with his friends at the entrance of the village while Marco, his childhood friend, returns after a two year absence. From Chile to Malo Misto returned Tonči, nicknamed Servantes, of course, without any money. He fell on the back of his hardworking aunt Keka, who even without him has enough problems of her own. Servantes also experiences an unexpected romance.

Two languorous summer days, two thorny tales of romantic misunderstanding: in part one, two girlfriends head to the Cergy leisure park for a day of swimming and equally vigorous flirtation; in the second, a Norwegian exchange student finds herself the target of unwanted attention from two would-be suitors.
