Born in America and raised in an Indian ashram, Pitka returns to his native land to seek his fortune as a spiritualist and self-help expert. When a feisty village gossip ropes a visiting junior hockey team into her schemes, hoping one will notice her granddaughter, the resulting clash with the exasperated mayor and a hapless regional inspector sets off a chain of uproarious misunderstandings. When the team advances to the Canadian championship, Yves convinces his young cousin to accompany him to Thunder Bay to attend the championship. The two cousins see this as a unique opportunity for their careers and will embark on a road trip that will lead them to discover the price to pay to make their dreams come true.
