Helmut and Sabine Halm have always managed vacations of lazy privacy at their favorite retreat on Germany′s Lake Constance. Anna is a primary school teacher and a nervous wreck. The pupils do whatever they want to her. Thilo is an actor - but mainly on his business card. To earn money, he sells wine in a call center, or rather, he tries to. One day, mutual friends Valerie and Moritz play fate and bring the two together. But this also goes wrong: Anna has a minor nervous breakdown and Thilo - falls in love! Head over heels! But first they have to solve their own problems, face up to their reality and admit that they need to change something in their lives. And gradually Anna and Thilo find their way back to themselves and to each other, because life writes the most beautiful stories with love and music...

The film begins with what initially seems like a simple event – a fifth-grade student, Azqar, losing his diary. A few years later, in the ninth grade, the emotional turmoil of a teenage girl who loses her diary again serves as the backdrop for depicting the contrasting and dramatic moments of her high school life.

State of Bacon tells the kinda real but mostly fake tale of an oddball group of characters leading up to the annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival. Bacon-enthusiasts, Governor Branstad, a bacon queen, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, members of PETA, and an envoy of Icelanders are not excluded from this bacon party and during the course of the film become intertwined with the organizers of the festival to show that bacon diplomacy is not dead.

Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers are worlds apart. At a crossroads in their lives, they share a hospital room and discover they have two things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do and an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are.
