Hired by a powerful member of the Russian mafia to avenge an FBI sting that left his brother dead, a psychopathic hitman known only as The Jackal proves an elusive target for the people charged with the task of bringing him down: a deputy FBI director, a Russian MVK Major, and a jailed IRA terrorist who can recognize him.

A woman moves into a cabin in the small town of Frozen Run to escape her hectic life. One night after a strange storm, a mysterious man arrives in town and speaks as if he knows her even though she's sure they've never met. She struggles to figure out what is going on as she is plagued by personal woes and horrible nightmares.

A stranger enters into and forever alters the life of a couple. He claims to be pursued by certain authorities who intend to prevent him from disclosing a secret that only he holds, whence the title. Is he lying, or insane - or is he telling the truth? Who, if anyone, is after him? And what *is* - the secret?

Produced by Cathay-Keris, this omnibus of three stories (with different directors) was adapted from mystery tales featuring Detective Inspector Latiff (S. Roomai Noor), a character created Pelham Groom, a former British officer and genre writer who settled in Singapore. Latiff’s ‘Watson’ is a female Chinese forensic doctor (Mary Lim), and the first story 'Mud on Her Shoes' hinges on the romance between an English expat and a Malay woman. The second story is the titular 'Hantu Rimau'. The third tale ’Double Knock Out’, heralded as the first depiction of a local boxing match, was shot in Happy World (later renamed Gay World), one of the night-life amusement parks known as the ‘Worlds’. Ryan is a man who is haunted by the memory of his one true love, Meg. However, his dreams about her soon turn to nightmares, as he struggles to comprehend what is real and what is fantasy. Destined to relive a moment in his life that will torment him forever, he must force himself out of his self contained prison to confront her.

This work was created for the Leeum Museum of Art's 2024 Art Spectrum special exhibition, "Dream Screen". Viewing fabricated horror as a sign of the times, it is one of 26 pieces by emerging Korean and Asian creators completed using the haunted house motif. The soul of a Korean-Chinese singer who passed away long ago awakens in the sea and wanders in search of traces of himself.
