Jake Wilcox grows cannabis for the notorious steam-punk gangster, Mr. P. When the entire crop is burnt, Jake goes on the run with his accomplices, Tony and Dominic. They are quickly captured, tortured, and driven to the middle of nowhere to dig their own graves. Mr. P orders Jake to commit a heinous act. To repay the debt owed to Mr. P, Jake must travel to the Isle of Baga to find his friend Harvie, who knows the whereabouts of a rare strain of cannabis called Saber-Tooth. Dr. Leon Kravaal develops a potential cure for cancer, which involves freezing the patient. But an experiment goes awry when authorities believe Kravaal has killed a patient. Kravaal freezes the officials, along with himself. Years later, they are discovered and revived in hopes that Kravaal can indeed complete his cure. But human greed and weakness compound to disrupt the project.

A group of scientists travel to a remote island to study the effects of nuclear weapons tests, only to get stranded when their airplane mysteriously explodes. The team soon discovers that the tests have given rise to crabs mutated into intelligent, impervious, telepathic giants intent on increasing their numbers by breeding, then travelling to populated areas to feed, and which do not intend to be stopped by their discoverers.

During the 70's, some Komodo Dragon eggs were dumped on an North Carolina island. Somehow, the baby Komodos survived, and twenty years later they have grown up and taken over the island for themselves. Young Patrick has lost his parents and his dog to the lizards, but didn't see them himself, which has left him traumatized. Now, with his therapist Victoria, they return to confront his fears.
