Vinayan is a transgender who is always at the receiving end of insults and unfair behaviour. His effeminate actions also earn him the ire of his own family. Will Vinayan ignore social norms and stay true to himself? Or will he bow down to diktats?

Film tells the story of marginalized people in Kerala through the life of a father who working as a temporary cleaner and his Eight year old son.

Rajan Pillai (Atul Kulkarni) is an underworld gangster living in Mumbai. Sub Inspector Sreedharan Menon (Sreenivasan) is a police officer. Sreedharan is very concerned about the family of a colleague who has been murdered while on duty. He shares a strong emotional bond with his colleague's two sons. The elder of the two, Pappan (Disney James), is a taxi driver who is married and has a child. The younger one, Appu (Bineesh Kodiyeri), is jobless and is ready to do anything to land a job. The rest of the story unravels the emotional bond between Pappan and Appu.

A five-year-old boy named Aravindan is abandoned by his mother at the Mookambika Temple. Afterwards, a local hotelier raises him, but he always hopes to meet his mother.

While guarding an Indian picket in Kashmir, Hareendranath meets Mushraff, a Pakistani soldier. Later, the two form an unlikely bond of friendship and confide in each other their deepest feelings.

Brought up in polar-opposite circumstances, Bhavana and Manoj are a couple who can't appreciate each other's individuality, though there is the thread of strong love that runs through their relationship. Manoj's money chasing mentality and losing their daughter to his carelessness push Bhavana gradually to a state of mental instability. However, the couple is not ready to give up on each other yet and what happens thereafter is the film's crux.
