Explores how the quest for an elusive monster transforms those who seek it. Through the stories of hunters, scientists, and believers, the film blurs the boundary between legend and reality, suggesting that Bigfoot might be as much a reflection of human nature as a creature of the wild. Each sighting, rumor, or empty trail becomes a mirror, revealing our collective longing for mystery, connection, and the untamed. Ultimately, the film is less about finding Bigfoot and more about how the search shapes us, igniting a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the natural world.
On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Journey follows cryptid documentarian Seth Breedlove and his crew as they head to the Adirondacks of update New York for an intensive, adventure-filled week searching for Sasquatch. The team joins bigfoot researchers like Steve Kulls ("Monsterquest") and Paul Bartholomew (Finding Bigfoot, Beast of Whitehall) who lead them on the search for their quarry. The Journey takes a deep look into the subject of bigfoot, but also what spurs people to spend their lives searching for a creature many believe doesn't exist. Along the way, the crew makes a stop in Whitehall, NY, home to an incident involving multiple members of law enforcement claiming to see a bigfoot in a field off a rural road. The crew has multiple unusual experiences during their various night investigations near Lake George, Whitehall, and Western Massachusetts. The Journey unveils some of that evidence.
Rick Dakotah investigates the "Woods People" of Vermont. "I have spent many years in some forest or another. I feel the best when I am out and about. Nature to me is "Love". I feel as though life is fair and one can get respect by respecting the other creatures of the forest. I stumbled into this research while filming my adventures. The "Woods People" are what I call them...Bigfoot to White Hairy Beings, UFO's, and more..."
Rick Dakotah continues his investigation of the "Woods People." "The woods people are dragging me further into their world. I spend most days out in the forest and mountains tracking the creatures. This is video two of the story. Do I believe in Sasquatch/Bigfoot? Yes I do but I don't really know what they look like. I have had actual visuals but the mind makes it hard to understand and tries to make something it doesn't understand...understandable."
For decades David and Malinda Bakara have searched for the legendary cryptid known as Bigfoot. And they're not alone. In 2016 the Bakaras opened Expedition: Bigfoot! -- a one-of-a-kind repository of all things Sasquatch. We visited Mr. Bakara to learn more about his experiences, his convictions, and why he believes there's overwhelming evidence for this creature's existence.
For the first time, scientists from many disciplines put the most compelling sasquatch evidence under the microscope and apply forensic science to the on-going mystery. Their conclusions shed new light as to whether we have a living, breathing North American ape living in our forests. Evidence collected by the BFRO, including the Skookum Cast, is featured. This cutting edge 1-hour 35mm film documentary is a co-production by Doug Hajicek of Whitewolf Entertainment Inc., The Discovery Channel, and Bosch Media.
