In August 1914, war between France and Germany seems imminent. Mata Hari, a beautiful Dutch-born dancer working in Paris, accepts an invitation to travel to Berlin as part of a show. On the train, she meets a young German army officer but any thoughts of romance are cut short when a French agent is murdered while in her company. She is arrested in Germany but freed when the officer intervenes. While in Germany, WWI breaks out and Hari is recruited by German Intelligence to spy on France.

In a city rotting from within, a cursed coin promising untold riches leaves only disappearances in its wake. When Elle, son of powerful politician Mr. Vichai, vanishes, two broken men—Time, a disgraced cop, and Marvin, a fallen lawyer—are hired to find the truth. One million baht is on the line. But some truths come at a higher price.

When a plot against a prominent Middle Eastern politician is uncovered, David Pollock, a professor of ancient hieroglyphics at Oxford University, is recruited to help expose the scheme. Pollock must find information believed to be in hieroglyphic code and must also contend with a mysterious man called Beshraavi. Meanwhile, Beshraavi's lover, Yasmin Azir, seems willing to aid Pollock -- but is she really on his side?

As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a Russian defector accuses her of being a Russian sleeper spy. She goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture, protect her husband, and stay one step ahead of her colleagues at the CIA. Her efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who is Salt?"
