Some time after the Mousekewitz's have settled in America, they find that they are still having problems with the threat of cats. That makes them eager to try another home out in the west, where they are promised that mice and cats live in peace. Unfortunately, the one making this claim is an oily con artist named Cat R. Waul who is intent on his own sinister plan.

When Rango, a lost family pet, accidentally winds up in the gritty, gun-slinging Western town of Dirt, the theater-loving lizard suddenly finds himself the newly appointed sheriff. Welcomed as the last hope the town has been waiting for, Rango is forced to play his new role to the hilt and uncover the truth behind a looming water crisis—before his act catches up with him.

At a raucous Alaskan gold rush saloon called the Malamute Saloon, locals drink and gamble. Dangerous Dan McGrew plays a solo card game alongside his companion, the lady known as Lou when a weary, rough-looking miner stumbles in from the bitter cold, pays for drinks for the house, and confronts Dan McGrew over an old grievance. Hoot is ordered to bring in the Indian Jolly Red Giant for not paying his fine for overpopulating his Indian tribe. Hoot Kloot and Fester makes it to the tribe, but there is no Red Giant around. Hoot inspects the tribe for clues, but the Indians starts shooting arrows. Hoot finds Jolly Red Giant in the desert, but Hoot has hard time making him come, since he's giant...
