The streets of Barcelona, thousands of people coinciding at the same time, eyes crossed lost in thought. Not realizing that even though it may seem unique, everyone has a story worth telling. People who live the moment that will change them forever, that will define and vindicate them. Moments in our lives where we have been, or will be, aware of a change of stage; of a before and an after. Moments when we feel like we’re dragging our backs every minute we’ve lived. Because we are all inside our chrysalis until someone breaks them and forces us to face the real world.

Created for the LA Guild of Puppetry's 48hr Puppet Film Project 2021, A Game of Fate is a short puppetry film that utilizes the project's theme (gratitude), object (wood), and action (laugh) to show the unique challenge Ernest faces and the game he must play to keep his life with the help of an unexpected ally.

Two friends, Fritz and Theodor, make the acquaintance of Christine and Mizzi, who are also friends. Fritz is immediately captivated by Christine, who is bashful and modest as opposed to the eager, effervescent Mizzi. But even though the love between the two grows, Christine is not the only woman in Fritz’s life. His affair with a married woman will prove to have fatal consequences.

After his parents' death, construction worker Sigi doesn't know what to do with his life. He can't do much with his pay, and as a working-class man, women aren't interested in him. But things start to change after a colleague advises him to start moonlighting as a private builder and he meets the beautiful Hannah.

A wanderer, captivated by the beauty of the world, carries a unique and terrifying curse: every illness he sees transfers to him. To escape this fate, he makes the ultimate sacrifice, relinquishing his eyesight—the very sense that connects him to what he loves most, at this point he happens to meet someone which shapes this short film.
