For the final they played two home concerts in the "Giants Stadium", New Jersey. Ella Peterson works in the basement office of Susanswerphone, a telephone answering service. She listens in on others' lives and adds some interest to her own humdrum existence by adopting different identities for her clients. They include an out-of-work Method actor, a dentist with musical yearnings, and in particular playwright Jeffrey Moss, who is suffering from writer's block and desperately needs a muse.

Andre and Colette Bertier are happily married. When Colette introduces her husband to her flirtatious best friend, Mitzi, he does his best to resist her advances. But she is persistent, and very cute, and he succumbs. Mitzi's husband wants to divorce her, and has been having her tailed. Andre gets caught, and must confess to his wife. But Colette has had problems resisting the attentions of another man herself, and they forgive each other.

In a small Japanese town, Ko-Ko is appointed to the unenviable position of executioner. Knowing he must successfully perform before the appearance of the Mikado in a month's time, Ko-Ko finds a suitable victim in Nanki-Poo, who is distraught over his unrequited love for the maiden Yum-Yum. Nanki-Poo agrees to sacrifice his life if he is allowed to spend his remaining days with Yum-Yum, who is betrothed to Ko-Ko.

Keloğlan and Tekin are two brothers. One night, they come to a coffee shop with the desire to become apprentices. Since the coffee shop has not had any customers for a long time, they are not hired. The two, who spend the night there, wake up when three dervishes arrive. With the dervishes' prayers, the coffee shop fills up with customers. The two brothers are regarded as miraculous. Tekin's fame spreads throughout the world, and princesses from India, China, and Kaf want to marry him, sending envoys to the coffeehouse. Tekin rejects all these offers and eventually falls in love with Zeynep, a shepherdess.
