Repainting Cuba takes a critical look at communist Cuba, where both the facades and the aging regime were given a coating of colorful paint in connection with the 50 year anniversary of the revolution. A documentary that explores the myth behind the truth. Different people around the globe reinterpret the legend of Che Guevara at will: from the rebel living in Hong Kong fighting Chinese domination, to the German neonazi preaching revolution and the Castro-hating Cuban. Their testimonies prove that the Argentinian revolutionary's historical impact reverberates still. But like with all legends, each sees what he will, in often contradictory perspectives.
Rick (Rutger Hauer), a disaffected sailor turned hard drinking womanizer, returns home from six months at sea to find his wife (Corrigan), whom he was deeply in love, has unexpectedly left him and is now a junkie whore. Devastated, he tries to ease his pain with booze and cheap thrills. His wife's best friend (Dagmar Lassander) makes a move on him, and when he spurns her (after scewing her first, naturally) she plots her revenge. She does so in an ingenious way, by exploiting a fantasy woman of his, but her plan backfires with tragic consequences.
It all started with an innocent trip when we set off on our first journey around Slovakia in a pioneer vehicle after high school. Every year we wanted to see more, and so we slowly fulfilled our dreams. Experience with us the endless feeling of freedom, but also the challenging and dangerous situations we often found ourselves in. We will take you from frozen Europe to Africa, where 45-degree hell awaited us in Sudan, endless deserts with empty tanks, pushing motorcycles up high mountains in Ethiopia, the beautiful beaches of Mozambique, but also a dangerous battle with insidious malaria. Five travelers, five months on the road, 15,000 kilometers on some of the worst single-track motor vehicles.
