An aristocratic girl volunteers with the Red Crescent, where she meets a young doctor. They fall in love and agree to marry, but cruelty of fate forces the girl to marry a rich sheikh. Life becomes difficult for her, so she agrees to commit suicide. But her mother pushes her back when she reveals to her the dangerous secret that the young doctor is not... Except for her brother.

As Rabab escapes from the cruelty of his stepmother and stays with an actress, she meets the young man, Ihsan, who tries to assault her inside his car, which overturns and dies. With his father’s attempt to take revenge on Rabab, she decides to flee again to Cairo to work as a teacher there under the name (Najwa). Then she met a colleague of hers and married him.

Both Rushdie and Ramzia work in the field of social activism, and they try to help Wafayah, Ramzia's sister, who is engaged to a traitorous man. They spread a rumor that Wafayah is suffering from tuberculosis, causing the marriage project to fail. Then Rushdie and Ramzia agree that the husband will play the role of lover for (Wafia) in order to comfort her. Will the plan succeed, or will the representation become reality?

The film is about an unemployed banker, Henri Verdoux, and his sociopathic methods of attaining income. While being both loyal and competent in his work, Verdoux has been laid-off. To make money for his wife and child, he marries wealthy widows and then murders them. His crime spree eventually works against him when two particular widows break his normal routine.

Pastor Spener, a missionary in Wallos, learns that Captain Gregson has closed his café to prove his earnestness as a Christian. Spener's daughter, Matilda, is in love with a handsome young native chief. Her father favors a marriage with Gregson, who is really a villain. The girl and her lover attempt to journey to his home, but their plans fail, and separation seems inevitable. The captain is killed. A lost film.

Happy-go-lucky Jim Fenton is in love with Miss Butterworth, the town milliner, who is taking care of little Harry Benedict while his father Paul, an inventor, is in the local insane asylum. Kalora is the "slim princess of Morevana," a land in which fat is prized. This distresses her family, who must marry off Kalora, before her rotund younger sister Papova may wed. To remedy this situation, Kalora's father, the governor general, throws a garden party and disguises his slim daughter in an inflated rubber suit. All goes well until the suit ruptures, deflating Kalora to her normal size....

A bad day gets worse for young detective Murakami when a pickpocket steals his gun on a hot, crowded bus. Desperate to right the wrong, he goes undercover, scavenging Tokyo’s sweltering streets for the stray dog whose desperation has led him to a life of crime. With each step, cop and criminal’s lives become more intertwined and the investigation becomes an examination of Murakami’s own dark side.

In Brooklyn circa 1900, the Nolans manage to enjoy life on pennies despite great poverty and Papa's alcoholism. We come to know these people well through big and little troubles: Aunt Sissy's scandalous succession of "husbands"; the removal of the one tree visible from their tenement; and young Francie's desire to transfer to a better school...if irresponsible Papa can get his act together.
