Guoren travels the villages, selling goods of all kinds while he hunts for the man who stole the money for his son's care. Madou, one of the many abandoned children in the villages, hides in Guoren's truck so he can look for his father. A powerful but cathartic trip through rural China with a neorealist touch and non-professional actors who add authenticity to the story, prompting spontaneous laughter despite the challenging issues involved.

Yukio Kunikida and Yuma Yamagishi are high school students and they are dating with each other. On an ordinary day, Yuma tells Yukio that "I'm going to die in a week." She knows that her illness has progressed and has accepted the fact that her days are numbered. She wants to live the rest of her days being true to herself. Yukio finds it difficult to accept that Yuma has just a short time left to live, but he occupies himself fulfilling her wishes.

Despite trying to cure himself with a hypnosis tape John Pettigrew is insanely jealous of his wife Jane Margory and convinced she is having an affair with her handsome water aerobics instructor. Seeing a name and number in her diary he follows her in drag, only to find it is a transvestite club she is covering as a journalist and where he is embarrassingly chatted up. In the event his suspicions are correct but the proof comes at a cost.
