Little Red Riding-Hood lives together with her parents in a house on the edge of the forest. Her friends are a bunny, a squirrel and a bear. The little girl is always prepared to help, friendly, innocent and even unsuspecting, for she does not hold anyone capable of doing anything bad. Little Red Riding-Hood often visits her grandmother who lives in the depths of the forest. But her way there is a dangerous one: the wolf and its lackey, the fox, terrorize everyone with their evil deeds. One day, Little Red Riding-Hood is caught in their net.

Peter is a slight lad, solitary, locked out of the woods by his protective grandfather, his only friend a duck. In town, he's bullied. When a wolf menaces the duck - as well as grandfather's fat cat and an ill-flying bird that Peter has befriended - Peter bravely tries to tree the wolf. Grandfather, the townspeople, and the hunters who have antagonized Peter figure in the dénouement.

The realm of magic is being threatened by the realm of logic, so the green wizard, Carolinus, decides to shield it for all time. Ommadon, the evil red wizard, stands in his way. Long ago, red wolves roamed from the bayous of East Texas to the bays of coastal New York. Today, not even 20 remain in the wild—confined to a tiny pocket of habitat in far Eastern North Carolina. This short film uses over four years' worth of National Geographic Explorer Jess Suarez's photographs to tell the imagined story of one young wolf. Raised in captivity, she's eventually released into that last remaining habitat, and in the wild she finds freedom, danger, and the possibility of a new future for her species. Long ago, the red wolf was America's wolf, and with our help they could be again.
