Young photographer Andy is commissioned to take advertising photographs of the film star Hanna Peters. She is on holiday, and to his confusion and bewilderment Andy finds that her twin sister works in Hanna's hotel. The comedy of errors that arises keeps Andy on tenterhooks until he finds his true love in sister Renate.

After surviving a heart attack, bus company owner Marianne Toeplitz should actually be more concerned about her health than her ailing business. Summer in Germany, anno 1970. Italy is the number one destination. As every year, swarms of Teutonic tourists make their way to the Adriatic Sea. Only Willi Hirsekorn from Castrop-Rauxel has so far no plans to break south. That changes, however, as the bitchy neighbor Mizzi Buntje proudly tells of their upcoming holiday in Italy. Willi can not afford this boasting. Shortly determined, the bags are packed, and already rushes Willi in the car with his wife Sieglinde, daughter Lotti and son Kuno the sun.

The pretty young seamstress Annie works in the home of the famous Viennese fashion czar Charles Fürst. Hoping to one day win Her Majesty, as Fürst is known, Annie rejects all advances from jazz trumpeter Axel. Her efforts are vindicated when she mistakenly receives an invitation to a royal dinner and is allowed to accompany Charles on a business trip to Paris.
