In the spring of a new semester, a "ranking" is sent to Class 2-D. It clearly shows the rankings of all the students and the homeroom teacher. The one who ranks 1st is Himeyama Tsubaki, a kind and popular honor student recognized by everyone. But one day, without any warning, she commits suicide. A few days later, everyone in the class receives a suicide note from Himeyama, and from that day on, the class begins to fall apart.

Fernando, a lonely and tormented man, gets a job as a night watchman in a warehouse close to being demolished. The building is huge, with several floors and wings interconnected by a confusing network of corridors and stairs. One night, Fernando hears strange noises and finds a gate open that should be closed. From that moment on, nothing will be the same.

In an unforgiving battle for his soul, a grizzled middle aged man, plagued by a myriad of ailments, becomes the target of nightmarish creatures dispatched by the Ferryman of the River Styx. Refusing to settle his debt, he battles to outlast these henchmen of Death in a high stakes struggle for his very existence.
