In the glorious setting of the Lake District, the lives of local farmers, food producers and crafters, whose work is sold at the celebrated, family-run Tebay Service Station, are followed.


Baker Patrick gets inspiration from the local landscape for the bread he produces for motorway travellers. Master butcher Dave heads to the fells to hand-pick Herdwick lambs to be sold on his counter.

A master butcher teaches primary school children to make cumberland sausages the traditional way, while a young entrepreneur cooks up a spicy new preserve for the service station shelves, but hjas to convince the head food buyer that it is worth stocking. The service station's head lifestyle buyer pays a visit to a ceramicist who has been supplying the farm shop for 20 years.

The service station's food and product buyers hunt for new and exciting ideas to fill the shelves. Award-winning cheesemakers hope their new goats' cheese will tempt the customers, while a family planning to expand their skincare business pull out all the stops to impress head lifestyle buyer Tracy with their new home spa product. The service station's farm prepares for sheep mating season.

The lady of a Cumbrian manor brings a book full of incredible marmalade recipes to Tebay. Butcher Dave transforms sheepskins into new products. And the farm shop is turned into a Christmas wonderland.

As an old man he recreated his love affair with Lakeland in the company of Eric Robson, exploring Orrest Head and Kendal, Haweswater and Borrowdale. It was journey that culminated in an emotional visit to his favorite mountain—Haystacks.

The Lakes is a mystery drama created and written by Jimmy McGovern for BBC1. The first series – comprised of four episodes – broadcast from 14 September to 5 October 1997. A second series of ten episodes ran from 10 January to 14 March 1999. Danny Kavanagh leaves Liverpool for the Lake District, finding work at a hotel and love with a local girl named Emma. Yet Danny remains an outsider in the close-knit community, and through the machinations of fate, he finds himself implicated in a tragedy. The secrets, lies, and crimes, of the seemingly tranquil community continue to be revealed.

Based on the book of the same name by Alex Shearer; a new political party called the "Good for You" (abbreviated as GFY) which comes into power and bans chocolate. Two kids named Smudger Moore and Huntley Hunter want to get their chocolate back. They begin by selling bootleg chocolate, and go on to join an underground resistance organization.
