I Bought A Dump...Now What? follows homeowners who purchased dilapidated properties in hopes of renovating them into their forever home. By trying to tackle the overhauls themselves to save money, they end up behind schedule, over budget and exhausted. During the series, cameras will track the progress of each renovation and, in the end, reveal whether the owners can complete the work or are left out in the cold.

Kevin will travel the length and breadth of the country to uncover the stories behind some of Britain’s most remarkable buildings and structures, exploring why places as diverse as Coventry Cathedral and the Penguin Pool at London Zoo have been judged worthy of the highest level of protection. This is heritage with the doors thrown open, as Kevin is invited into parts of these structures the public never normally sees, as he meets the people who care for them and gets hands-on himself.

Each Challenge pits numerous cast members from past seasons of reality shows against each other, dividing them into two separate teams according to different criteria, such as gender, which show they first appeared on, whether or not they're veterans or rookies on the show, etc. The two teams compete in numerous missions in order to win prizes and advance in the overall game.

The competition, in which anyone of any age can enter, searches the country looking for the best home cooked dish, with the winner receiving £20,000 and their dish made and sold by Marks & Spencer. Carol Vorderman presents the show on ITV, STV & UTV The show's judging panel consists of Tom Parker Bowles, Loyd Grossman, Anne Harrison, Stacie Stewart and Andi Oliver who was a guest judge for the Harrogate heats.
