Yuru, a young hunter, lives in a small village deep in the mountains, hunting wild game and leading a humble life with Asa, his younger twin sister. Their peaceful lives are torn apart when a dragon’s roar echoes across the sky. What secrets lurk within their village? What fate…

In a world where certain humans command mighty supernatural duos called Daemons, it is the birthright of "the children who sunder day and night"—twins Yuru and Asa—to rule over these powerful entities. Separated from a young age and unaware of the truth of their birth, brother and sister must fight to make their way back to each other, claim their birthright, and save the world...

Guided by Dera, Yuru flees from his pursuers and awakens the guardian deities of the village.

Yuru learns the truth about his village and learns the rules of modern society as he rides down the mountain.

After a short rest, Yuru and his Daemons begin their search for Asa by sniffing out her blood.

Yuru and his Daemons track the scent of Asa's blood to a warehouse, where they encounter Jin and his men.

Yuru is reunited with Asa at the Kagemori mansion and asks her about their parents.

The morning after the battle, Yuru asks about the eyepatch covering her right eye.

Dera arrives at the Kagemori mansion to retrieve Yuru, and they're invited to breakfast by the clan head.

In order to cheer Yuru up, Dera drags him and his Daemons around the city to see the sights.

While shopping in the city, Yuru and Dera sense that they’re being followed.

After defeating Long-Arm and Long-Leg, the group realizes something else had been tailing them all along.

Ken moves in with Yuru and the others and asks Yuru to help him become stronger.

Higashi Village is attacked by a man wielding katana Daemons.

Yuru and Ken notice someone following them while looking for a place to practice shooting a bow.

Feeling betrayed by Danji, Yuru asks for space so he can think by himself.

Yuru and Dera head to the warehouses at night to meet Ivan.

The traitor attacks Asa while she's alone, but the Kagemoris have set a trap for him.

At the Kagemori mansion, the traitor is captured. Meanwhile, Gonzo overpowers the Shingo clan.

Asa rescues the hostages, and Yuru faces off against Ivan.

After an intense battle, Ivan escapes. He teleports back to Shingo, who appears to be in trouble.

The Zashiki-Warashi, Danji and Kiri, tell Asa and Yuru what they know about Higashi Village.

Natsuki demands to know why Akio betrayed the Kagemori clan, but he offers no explanation.

Akio escapes from the Kagemoris, and Yuru comes down with a fever.

Yuru dreams about the day bandits tried to kill him as a kid, and Asa blames herself for the gardener's death.
