Sarah Beeny attempts to save a near-derelict listed Georgian stately home. Having offered advice to amateur property developers, can she make all the right decisions herself?
It’s certainly a grand house set in beautiful countryside, but it’s clearly falling apart. Sarah and Graham give themselves six months and a limited budget to turn it around - to make it fit for weddings. They set about the task but it’s turning out to be much tougher and more costly than they ever imagined.
Sarah and Graham want to turn the 1970s gymnasium - an addition from when Rise Hall was a secondary school - into the venue for the wedding reception. But in its current state it is scarcely romantic and the roof is rotting and leaking. They also want to create master bedrooms in classic Regency, Victorian and Contemporary styles. Meanwhile Sarah and Graham are having problems getting the wedding venue license.
The race to the finish. They’ve got their first couple signed up to be married, but there are still big sections of Rise Hall to be structurally finished, and many rooms to be decorated. There’s a huge chandelier to source and hang and carpets to choose and lay. Can it really be ready on time?

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is an American reality television series providing home improvements for less fortunate families and community schools. The show is hosted by carpenter and veteran television personality Ty Pennington. Each episode features a family that has faced some sort of recent or ongoing hardship such as a natural disaster or a family member with a life-threatening illness, in need of new hope. The show's producers coordinate with a local construction contractor, which then coordinates with various companies in the building trades for a makeover of the family's home. This includes interior, exterior and landscaping, performed in seven days while the family is on vacation and documented in the episode. If the house is beyond repair, they replace it entirely.
A recently divorced mother of two, New Jersey teacher Shalina Joy is taking on her biggest summer vacation project ever, completely transforming a run-down 1900's mansion into a sunny, functional home for her family. From crumbling walls to holes in floors and surprises at every turn, she's peeling back decades of bad renovations and restoring the 6,000 square foot Italian Renaissance house to its original glory, and giving herself a fresh start.
