The PTL Club, later called The Jim and Tammy Show, and in its last days PTL Today and Heritage Today, was a Christian television program first hosted by evangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, which ran from 1974 to 1989. The PTL Club, which adopted a talk-show format, was the flagship television program of the Bakkers' PTL Satellite Network. It was one of the first Christian broadcasts in the U.S. to deal with the subject of homosexuality.
In The Sermon on the Mount, an eight-hour course, Dr. Jordan Peterson explores the profound wisdom and symbolism embedded in this foundational biblical text, highlighting the transformative power of living by Christ-like principles. He offers a deep dive into key passages, such as the Beatitudes and the Lord’s Prayer, emphasizing the importance of humility, self-reflection, and the pursuit of meaning when facing life’s challenges. Throughout the lectures, Dr. Peterson masterfully integrates biblical narratives, Jungian psychology, and personal stories, illustrating the enduring relevance of these teachings for navigating the complexities of the human experience.
In God, The Bible & Humanity, a five-hour course, Bishop Robert Barron explores the nature of God, the biblical narrative, and the life and teachings of Jesus Christ through the lens of Catholic theology. Drawing from the Old and New Testaments, he examines themes such as God's transcendence and immanence, the importance of right worship, spiritual liberation, and the roles of priest, prophet, and king. The course culminates in a profound reflection on the Sermon on the Mount and the transformative power of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
In Thomas Aquinas, a seven-hour course, Bishop Robert Barron guides us through a study of the theological and philosophical system of Thomas Aquinas, the 13th-century Dominican friar who masterfully synthesized Ancient Greek philosophy with Christian doctrine. We examine his Five Ways for demonstrating God's existence, his understanding of divine attributes and the Trinity, and his teachings on creation, providence, and the problem of evil. The course delves into Aquinas's philosophical anthropology, particularly the relationship between body and soul and humanity's creation in God's image. We conclude by studying his ethical framework centered on finding happiness in God as humanity's ultimate goal, and the role of virtues in ordering human life toward God.
Yale Courses - This course approaches the New Testament not as scripture, or a piece of authoritative holy writing, but as a collection of historical documents. Therefore, students are urged to leave behind their pre-conceived notions of the New Testament and read it as if they had never heard of it before. This involves understanding the historical context of the New Testament and imagining how it might appear to an ancient person.
In The Sacred and the Profane, an eight-hour course, Dr. Jordan B. Peterson explores Mircea Eliade’s ideas and the powerful ways sacred experience shapes human consciousness, meaning, and civilization itself. Drawing on comparative mythology, psychology, and religious traditions, the lectures reveal recurring archetypal patterns—from confronting chaos and undergoing transformation to establishing meaningful order—across cultures and history. Key themes include archetypal narratives, sacred centers and wilderness, hierarchies of meaning, the nature of recurring existential crises, and the ultimate role of sacrifice and voluntary responsibility in creating cosmos from chaos.

Popetown is a controversial animated sitcom, billed by its producers as "Father Ted meets South Park", following the doodles and scribblings of a student at school during a lesson. His drawings depict the life of Father Nicholas, who lives in a Vatican City parody referred to as "Popetown". He is charged with being the handler for the Pope who is a complete nincompoop with the emotional and mental maturity of a four-year-old. Father Nicholas must keep the Pope out of trouble, and make sure the general public does not find out that the Holy Father is a drooling idiot. Other characters include a priest who is a sexual deviant, and a trio of corrupt cardinals who secretly run Popetown and attempt to get rich behind the Pope's back. These and other elements caused the show to be extremely controversial.
