David Threlfall takes the role of David Baker who between 1983 and 1987 headed up the investigation into the brutal murders of two Leicestershire schoolgirls, Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth.
With plenty of publicity, the local teenager is released and the world is introduced to DNA fingerprinting for the first time. In the villages of Narborough and Enderby there is a complete sense of fear that a murderer is living amongst them.

Paramet is a wealthy widower in conflict with his daughter Pin over his decision to marry Rata. Rata is a younger woman who Pin believes wants nothing more than to inherit her father's assets. The conflict exacerbates until the day Paramet has a fatal heart attack and comes back in the body of a younger man.

The series is based on real events. It takes us to Kythera from 1906 to 1909 and chronicles one of the largest mass murders the country has ever known. There, we meet the central figure of the story, Antonis, a peaceful shoemaker. A lovable young man, until he is unjustly slandered. The outcry of the local community forces him to leave. He makes a new start in Piraeus. Again, however, his attempt to escape falls on deaf ears. History repeats itself in the big city, filling Antonis with bitterness and anger. Now, there is only one way left for him: Revenge.

1985 serves as the backdrop to the final showdown of the Cold War when Sandy and her partner Jeanne Vertefeuille vowed to find the mole that would turn out to be the most notorious traitor in US history, Aldrich Ames. Sandy is in a race against time to save the Soviet intelligence officers from being caught and killed. Living her own double life at home, this beautiful wife and mother vowed to stop at nothing until she uncovered the truth.

Kensuke Otokawa (Sota Ryosuke), Machika's younger brother who is attracted to Sawako's bewitching charm, Shinji Otsu (Kohei Shoji), a detective who approaches Machika, and Nono Igarashi (Hirai Amon), Kensuke's art school classmate, a reporter Kazuomi Makihara (Kazuya Tanabe), who suspects Machika, is quietly creeped out by Sawako's madness.. Why does the crazy Sawako target the people around Machika one after another…?

The series tells the story of a criminal investigation into the murder of businessman Paulo Gomes de Aguiar at the beginning of August. In the midst of the Vargas government crisis, the murder case is taken by police commissioner Alberto Mattos, an honest and incorruptible man who is not well regarded by his co-workers, as the place is totally turned over to corruption.
