Animation
The series is a historical drama aesthetically and boldly adapting the life of Oda Nobunaga in his teens up to his time as a warlord against his brother, Nobuyuki.
Kippoushi (Nobunaga), surrounded by castle intrigue, is caught aiding a band of homeless youth who are stealing his father's goods. As his father is about to shoot them, Nobunaga intervenes. His father releases the gang into Nobunaga's care.
Nobunaga is engaged against his will to the daughter of The Viper of Minou, Kichou--secretly a ninja. After the wedding, she tries to kill Nobunaga, but he talks her out of it. She then attempts suicide, but Nobunaga convinces her to remain with him.
As Nobuhide awaits death, Tsuneoki gets wind of a traitor. A brash child, Inuchiyo, begs his way into Nobunaga’s service. On the eve of the funeral, Nobunaga rushes to help Tsuneoki confront the spy, and ends up missing his father’s memorial service.
When Nobunaga requests 500 muskets, of his retainers, only Nobunaga’s mentor Hirate supports him. Nobutomo, titular lord of Owari, makes a grab for real power. As Hirate's health fades, Nobunaga puts his new battle method to the test.
Saitou Dousan, lord of neighboring Mino Province and Nobunaga's father-in-law, invites Nobunaga and Kichou to meet. As Toshiie tries to lead a defensive force to the site, Dousan's son/Kichou's brother, Yoshitatsu, puts a cunning plan into action.
Facing multiple provocations by the aggressor Imagawa, in cahoots with the puppetmasters of the Principal Line, Nobunaga appeals to his loyal brother Nobukatsu for aid. But Nobukatsu faces opposition from those surrounding him, who have other ideas.
Hemmed in by power-hungry schemers, Nobukatsu attempts to communicate secretly with Nobunaga via their naïve younger brother, Hidetaka. But when Hidetaka meets with misfortune, Nobukatsu’s loyalty to Nobunaga is put to the ultimate test.
Hearing rumors that his brother Nobukatsu is preparing for war, Nobukatsu issues a proclamation to protect local villages. When Nobukatsu defies the proclamation and raises an army of thugs, Nobunaga is forced to make the most difficult of decisions.
Nobunaga attempts to marry his younger sister Oichi to his cousin Nobukiyo in order to forge an alliance, an effort that goes badly awry. Meanwhile, rumors of a great serpent lurking near Midori-ga-Ike Pond have the people of Owari living in fear.
Nobukatsu agrees to a cowardly ploy by Tsuzuki to draw Nobunaga outside the safety of his castle. Choosing loyalty over his personal safety, Nobunaga takes the bait, and the brothers face off at last, with the fate of Owari in the balance.
When Shiba Yoshikane--nominally Lord Protector of Owari but in fact merely a feckless ward--begins to stir up trouble, Nobunaga must act. But his actions carry repercussions, and Nobunaga receives a summons from the Shogun to explain himself.
As Imagawa Yoshimoto’s enormous army invades, Nobunaga’s resolve to fight against impossible odds wavers. In this, his ultimate test, Nobunaga’s strategic savvy and courage, and the courage of his faithful companions, are put to the ultimate test.

Saburo is a high school student good in sports, but not very good with his studies. One day, Saburo travels back in time and arrives in the Sengoku period of 1549. Nobunaga Oda, though, is physically weak, and he asks Saburo to take his place. Then, Saburo as Nobunaga Oda attempts to unify the country of Japan.
Many years ago the world was divided into two stars, the Eastern and the Western, that were connected by a bond known as the Dragon Pulse. On the Western Star, Jeanne D’Arc is shunned as a heretic for her visions of a champion who will save the planets that have become embroiled in war. Now the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance as, at the order of King Arthur, Jeanne travels from the West to the East with Leonardo Da’Vinci at her side, in search of their long awaited savior- Nobunaga!
Before he died at Honnouji in 1582, the great warlord Oda Nobunaga stood before a statue of Buddha and thought to himself that he'd committed so many sins that he'd very likely be reborn as a dog. He never expected that Buddha would take his words literally, however, but the next thing he's aware of, he's in the body of a Shiba Inu named Shinamon in modern Japan! Less than thrilled at the fact that his human warlord consciousness is trapped in the instinct-bound body of an adorable house pet, Nobunaga struggles between making the best of it (he can have that ruff all the Europeans were wearing!) and being frustrated with his reality (the ruff turns out to be a bath hat and now he has to have a bath). Is it better or worse that many of his fellow warriors also seem to have been reincarnated in canine form – and that his enemy looks like he lucked out and got to be a human?
Born as the second son of warlord Oda Nobuhide in Owari province, Nobunaga rises to power after his father's death and gains the support of Saito Dozo in his quest to unify Owari province and bring an end to the chaotic Sengoku period. However, Nobunaga's strong personality incurs the resentment of Akechi Mitsuhide.
Oda Nobunaga slips back in time to the present and arrives on the set of "Oda Nobunaga", a historical drama serial. "This is not who I really am!", the short-tempered Nobunaga loses his temper and rewrites the script without permission. It was a small, small-scale drama, just a bunch of maniacal and slightly funny episodes, not a "Taiga Drama" at all. Now filming has begun on a historical drama directed by the real Nobunaga that is "ridiculous but all true"!
