The story revolves around 20-year-old Makoto, who frequently gets involved in highly dangerous situations, usually against his own judgment. Along for the ride are his best buddies Shun, Masa, and Takashi, the enigmatic leader of a local gang in Ikebukuro.


A dangerous new drug is on the streets, and its addicts are causing trouble around town. Takashi enlists Makoto’s aid in dealing with the problem, and for Makoto, things soon become personal.

There’s a new gang in town, and the word on the street is that they’re acting as enforcers for a local business that treats its employees in highly questionable fashion. It’s up to Makoto and one of said employees to uncover the truth.

An online content creator asks the G-Boys to provide him with a bodyguard, so Makoto is put on the job. This means he has to learn what video sharing is all about, and that’s just the start of his revealing experience with ongoing online education.

A man he’s only just met asks Makoto if he can help him figure out who killed his son five years ago. Thus begins some detective work for Makoto, which ends up digging up things that perhaps should have remained buried in the past.

An advisor for technical intern trainees from China asks Makoto to help him find one of his missing charges. If she isn’t back at her factory in time for an upcoming inspection, it could end up being bad news for everybody.

Someone called Shadow is going around beating up G-Boys, and all the victims happen to be under Hiroto’s command. Hiroto suspects Takashi is responsible, so Makoto has to figure out who hired Shadow before a war breaks out.

Information about Shadow and his employer trickles in, as Makoto pulls out all the stops to prevent a civil war amongst the G-Boys. Now the question is, how big are the risks he’s willing to take to maintain peace in Ikebukuro?

Kyouichi suspects one of his fans is having trouble getting by, so he asks Makoto to go check in on her and her young son. Makoto’s mother takes an unexpected interest in the situation as well, and they find there’s more going on than meets the eye.

The members of the G-Boys are hired to act as bodyguards to a group that opposes ethnic discrimination that is against an opposing group. However, Makoto gets roped into another job about places run by foreign ethnicities are being harassed.

A woman abruptly commissions Makoto to get revenge for an attack that crippled her brother. But the "beast" who attacked him hardly seems savage, so Makoto decides to dig a little deeper on this case.

As tensions rise between the G-Boys and the Red Angels, Makoto finds himself mediating from the middle as usual. But this time the situation is different, and the stakes become much higher than they've ever been.

Now on the run from most of his former friends, Makoto has to use all the resources he has left to piece together who's causing so much trouble in Ikebukuro. Chances are, it's the same one who seems to have a personal grudge against him.

Tokyo Friends is a Japanese television drama released on June 3, 2005. Unlike many other dramas, it was never aired on TV but released as a set of 3 DVDs. Volumes one and two contain the first 4 episodes while volume three contains the last episode. Each episode is approximately 70 minutes. The Tokyo Friends Premium Box was also released which includes all 5 episodes, a bonus DVD, and 12 postcards. Although this is a very typical Tokyo-story and was never aired on TV, it was quite successful probably because it was Ai Otsuka's debut as an actress.

Astitva - Ek Prem Kahani was a Hindi-language soap opera that aired on Zee TV channel for about four years. The story focuses on the concept of women's identity through the character of Dr. Simran, who embodies patience, consistency and suppression in a subtle way. She is a gynecologist who enters a complex situation when she marries a man 10 years younger than herself. It shows the ensuing struggles in her life.

The story centers around Yoshizou Yukawa, a major hot spring fan who finds hidden springs to revitalize the economy of the local area. However, he dies after falling off a cliff and is transported to an alternate world, thanks to an inari deity of harvest at a small shrine nestled in the rocks. Together with the inari's attendant princess Mayudama, he continues searching for storied hot springs, only this time in the alternate world. Along the way, he ends up naked in hot springs with furry-eared girls and elven girls.

Dr. Song Xingchen shocks everyone by quitting her prestigious hospital job to start life on her own terms. Her new beginning takes an unexpected turn when she witnesses Su Qingche, a bold rescue team leader, save a dog from danger. The series is based on real events. It takes us to Kythera from 1906 to 1909 and chronicles one of the largest mass murders the country has ever known. There, we meet the central figure of the story, Antonis, a peaceful shoemaker. A lovable young man, until he is unjustly slandered. The outcry of the local community forces him to leave. He makes a new start in Piraeus. Again, however, his attempt to escape falls on deaf ears. History repeats itself in the big city, filling Antonis with bitterness and anger. Now, there is only one way left for him: Revenge.
