Acta Non Verba

The OCEAN is now on tour for the ninth time. This time we are accompanying, among others, 17-year-old Munich surfer Ben Neumann. He proves that it is not only the sea that sometimes seems limitless, but also the human will. Ben is blind and not surfing the famous Eisbach wave is not an option for him. The three Australians Madison Stewart, Alice Forrest and Jordyn de Boer also want to cross borders. They are environmental activists and have one goal: to protect the oceans and their flora and fauna. In "The Power of Activism", they prove that this can also be economically viable and show a possible path into the future of activism. The fact that this future must begin now is impressively demonstrated by the film "Stolen Fish", which tells the story of two Gambian fishermen and a Gambian fish seller. All three are struggling with overfishing off the West African coast. A story about cause and effect and the associated search for a better life.

A documentary on Queercore, the cultural and social movement that began as an offshoot of punk and was distinguished by its discontent with society's disapproval of the gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender communities.

Widerstandsmomente (Moments of Resistance) carries voices, writings, and objects from the anti-Nazi resistance into the present. Politically engaged women of today respond to historical resistance and make links to current events. A line is drawn from what was before and what is today to what might be: a society based on solidarity without discrimination or exclusion.

The journalist Andrés Oviedo must write about the murder of a young political activist Mariano Ferreyra for the magazine where he works. Oviedo performs a series of interviews and dialogues with familiars and friends of Ferreyra. The search for the truth and the motifs of the crime lead him to confront his publishers, who removed him from the case. In front of the arising complications, Andrés doubts to proceed with the investigation, but the support of his daughter, of the same generation as Mariano, helps him to continue. (FILMAFFINITY)

Fourty years ago, in May 1981, with François Mitterrand's election, some people were letting themselves dream about a better life while others were predicting the coming of soviet tanks upon the Champs-Élysées. If we gladly remember the turning point of austerity in 83, there were also the wage rises, the fifth week of paid leave, the abolition of death penalty, the decriminalisation of homosexuality, or the advent of independent radio stations. Rare archives and accounts by those who were at the heart of this story give an overview of it and shed light on lesser-known aspects.
