Linda La Hughes shares a flat with Tom Farrell. Linda is overweight, loudmouthed and not particularly attractive. She thinks she's gorgeous and irrestible, however. She's also sex mad and obsessed with men. Tom is an aspiring actor. He's got an agent, but finds it difficult to…

There's a man in the flat – looking very fetching in just his stylish underwear – but neither Linda nor Tom can remember picking him up at the nightclub.

Tom believes he's got the break he's been waiting for when he has an audition to play a hooligan in a TV Crimewatch reconstruction, while Linda receives a declaration of love from a secret admirer, who she assumes to be her happily married neighbour Jez. She tries (one of many times) to attract his attention with her classy bright green PVC catsuit while he insults his wife Suze by yelling "shutup you rake!"

Tom has broken his leg (which prevented him attending a Crimewatch UK audition) and requires the attentions of a home help – a suicidal, self-pitying man called Shirley (Morgan Jones). Linda loses her job as a receptionist at Fast Track but is cheered up when she scores with motorcycle courier Joe (Adrian Bower), until she discovers he is religious.

Linda's sister Sugar comes to stay, which leads to outbursts of sibling rivalry and bitterness from Linda... Until it emerges that Sugar has links to the stars, including Liam Gallagher's phone number!

Tom is worried that he's getting old and boring, so goes out on the pull, clubbing. Linda stays in and tries to chat up Jez, calling upon her knowledge of black heritage to help her. Or not. Tom ends up with an Italian stud, or so he thinks.

Linda is jealous when Tom starts spending time with another woman, even more so when he announces he is going to marry her. The wedding ends up being a sham, but Linda is offered the job of a lifetime. With a fab dream sequence where they appear on the Terry Clinger show.

Titus is an American dark comedy sitcom that debuted on Fox in 2000. The series was created by its star, Christopher Titus, Jack Kenny, and Brian Hargrove. This sitcom was based on Christopher's stand-up comedy act, more specifically his one-man show Norman Rockwell is Bleeding, which was based loosely upon his real-life family; lines from Norman Rockwell is Bleeding were spoken by Titus as commentary. Titus plays an outwardly childish adult, who owns a custom car shop. The show follows him and his dimwitted halfbrother Dave, his girlfriend Erin with the "heart of gold", his goody-goody friend Tommy, and his arrogantly lewd, bigoted and multiple-divorced father Ken "Papa" Titus.

The Armando Iannucci Shows is a series of eight programmes focused on specific themes relating to human nature and existentialism, around which Iannucci would weave a series of surreal sketches and monologues. Recurring themes in the episodes are the superficiality of modern culture, our problems communicating with each other, the mundane nature of working life and feelings of personal inadequacy and social awkwardness. Several characters also make repeat appearances in the shows, including the East End thug, who solves every problem with threats of violence; Hugh, an old man who delivers surreal monologues about what things were like in the old days; and Iannucci's barber, who is full of nonsensical anecdotes.

Nathan Barley is a Channel 4 sitcom written by Charlie Brooker and Chris Morris, starring Nicholas Burns, Julian Barratt, Charlie Condou and Claire Keelan. The series of six weekly episodes began broadcasting on 11 February 2005 on Channel 4.
