Following the cancellation of their network television series, the superhero rock band finds themselves split up and scattered. The M.C. Bat Commander embarks on an epic quest to reunite the rest of The Aquabats (Crash McLarson, Jimmy the Robot, Ricky Fitness, and EagleBones Falconhawk) while gathering a "Legion of Righteous Comrades" to fight boredom, defeat bizarre villains, and bring their music and television adventures back to life.

Ripley Holden is a small-time entrepreneur desperate to make it big with his new state-of-the-art amusement arcade. The opening extravaganza is overshadowed by the find of a dead body on the premises. DI Carlisle is called in and quickly finds he has more on his mind than murder, when he falls in love with Ripley's long-suffering wife.
